- ISO standard
Berkem demonstrates its ability to regularly provide a product complying with market and regulation requirements.

The Gardonne production site, which was certified ISO – the quality referential defined by the International organization for standardization – in 1996, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification. The priority objective is the satisfaction of customers’ needs, the mastering of ongoing realization and improvement processes.

- AFAQ-AFNOR standardization
Berkem offers the guarantee of its partners’ trust and satisfaction.

Management responsibility, resource management, product realization, measuring processes, ongoing analysis and improvement are regularly evaluated by AFAQ – AFNOR (the Association Française d’Assurance de la Qualité – French Association of Quality Assurance, and the Association Française de Normalisation – French Association of standardisation, both ISO members).

• Environnemental engagement

- Berkem has ratified l’Engagement de Progrès – the French branch of the Responsible Care® program – and invested one million euros in an effluent treatment plant.

- Pursuant to European regulation, we carry out selective waste sorting from source to storage, before their collection. This practice goes hand in hand with a more significant contribution to their valorization or their conditioning. Within a decade, the volume of waste generated has significantly diminished (it is 3.3 times less important in 2004 than it was in 1995).

• Social engagement

- By anticipating the adoption of the future European REACH regulation, Berkem gets actively involved into the safety of users and staff.

• Society engagement

- Our Group has been taking an active part in the life of the teaching community by assisting University and engineer school projects. This association with such sources of knowledge aims at supporting academes, doctoral students and engineers in their work by providing them with our products. We can also provide teachers with teaching aids. A “Sarpap Innovation Award” is attributed after receiving the work’s results.
